What’s up everyone! My name is Crystal and I am a part of the kids staff at Bethany Church. I am also a Bethany College alumni. I moved from my hometown of San Antonio, Texas in January of 2019 and have been living in Baton Rouge ever since! My husband and I value missions and have been on over 10 mission trips in the past few years. We love going on mission trips and being able to see what God is doing all around the world. Actually, as I type this my husband, Kulin, is leading the Bethany College mission trip at the Dream Center in LA. I can’t wait to hear all of the testimonies to come from that trip.
Every time I have been on a mission trip I have seen God move in miraculous ways.
Romans 10:14-15 says, “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news.” Wow! What a powerful verse! Did you know you don’t have to leave the country to go on the mission field? While sending people overseas to reach those in other countries is super important, did you know that there are people all around us who need Jesus? There are people in our own neighborhoods, in our workplaces, in our schools, and in our local grocery stores who have never had the gospel shared with them. Each and every one of us know at least one person in our sphere of influence who is lost and in need of a Savior. Reading the verse above challenges me to continue going on mission trips, and to tell everyone I know about Jesus.
Our church has recently been talking a lot about Missions. This year our church is sending people out on several mission trips all over the globe. If you are reading this and wondering if you should sign up for a trip, the answer is yes! If you’ve never been on a mission trip, I’d encourage you to sign up for one in faith. I challenge you to believe God will provide the finances that you need. Don’t let fear stop you from stepping out of your comfort zone and bringing the good news to another country. Allow the Lord to use you in far greater ways than you ever imagined.
